During Burning:
Always supervise a burning candle and never leave it unattended. Place candles away from drafts, such as windows or fans, to prevent uneven burning, smoking, and soot. Avoid burning soy candles for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Longer burns can cause issues like sagging or uneven burning. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame, as blowing it out can cause hot wax to splatter.
After Burning:
Center the wick. After extinguishing the candle, gently reposition the wick to the center while the wax is still soft. Regularly clean any soot buildup or debris from the candle and container to prevent overheating. Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the scent and prevent melting. Discontinue use when there is about 1/2 inch of wax remaining to prevent the glass from overheating.
Please note, soy wax candles often have a more textured surface than paraffin candles. This is because it is a natural product. The amount of texture, or “frosting”, can vary from candle to candle. This is purely aesthetic, and does not affect the fragrance or burn quality.
